The reason is simple. Most of the world's chips, circuit boards, and memory modules are made in Asia, then shipped to North America for assembly. Tariffs on those imports mean higher costs for manufacturers, and those costs rarely stay with the company. They get passed down the line, finally landing on the consumer.
