Ten Board Games Worth Watching This Autumn

Ten Board Games Worth Watching This Autumn

The autumn release schedule for board games looks unusually strong, with several big licenses arriving alongside original designs that could become long-term favorites. Groups looking for something new to bring to the table will find options ranging from heavy strategy to fast party play.

Leading the list is a new Dune title that puts players in charge of rival houses competing for control of Arrakis. It leans into negotiation and shifting alliances, so expect plenty of tense table talk. A Lord of the Rings game also arrives, this time focused on the journey through Moria, with cooperative play and a strong sense of mounting danger.

Fans of stranger settings can look forward to an Alice in Wonderland adaptation that mixes deduction with unpredictable events, giving the familiar story a fresh mechanical twist. Beyond the licensed games, the season includes a handful of original titles built around exploration, resource management, and quick rounds.

Many of these games support solo play as well, which has become a standard feature rather than an afterthought. With convention season approaching, previews and early reviews should help buyers decide what fits their group. For now, the fall lineup offers a healthy mix of theme and strategy, and plenty of reasons to clear space on the shelf.
