Not Everyone Will Be Able To Play Big Walk And That's Okay

House House, the studio behind the acclaimed Untitled Goose Game, is preparing to release its next project, Big Walk. But the team is already setting expectations: this is not a game that every player will be able to enjoy. The reason is simple. Big Walk is built around a very specific social and technical scenario. It requires a group of friends, each playing on their own device, in different physical locations, all connected online at the same time.

That is a hard pass for many people. Some gamers prefer solo experiences. Others have friends but not on the same platform. Some have friends on the same platform but live in different time zones. And some simply do not have a reliable internet connection that can support a seamless multiplayer session. The developers acknowledge this. They are not trying to make a game for everyone. They are making a game for a particular kind of player and a particular kind of moment.

This honesty is refreshing in an industry that often pushes for mass appeal. Big Walk is not a compromise. It is a vision. The game is about walking, exploring, and solving puzzles together, but the togetherness is the core mechanic. If you cannot bring that to the table, the experience falls apart. House House seems okay with that. They would rather have a smaller audience that fully understands and embraces the concept than a huge audience that feels frustrated by the requirements.

So, if you have a group of friends who are all willing to sync schedules and sit in separate rooms with headsets on, Big Walk might be a perfect fit. If not, you can watch a playthrough or simply skip it. The studio is fine with that. Not every game needs to be for everyone. Some games are better when they are for someone specific.
