Capcom is preparing to release three of its most respected survival horror titles on Nintendo Switch 2. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 are all scheduled to arrive on the new hardware, giving players a chance to revisit modern versions of these classics in portable form. Early hands-on impressions suggest the ports are more than simple re-releases.
The most immediate improvement comes from performance. All three games are said to target a smooth frame rate in both docked and handheld modes, with visual settings that sit somewhere between the base console versions and the enhanced editions seen on more powerful systems. Load times are noticeably shorter thanks to the Switch 2's faster storage, which matters in games that often rely on tension and pacing.
Resident Evil 2 and 3 share the same engine and control scheme, so they feel consistent when played back to back. Resident Evil 4, which has a different rhythm and more action-focused design, also benefits from the improved hardware. Motion controls are supported, though traditional stick aiming remains the default for most players.
Capcom has not confirmed a specific release date, but the games are expected to launch within the console's first year. For fans who skipped the previous Switch versions due to technical limits, these new ports could be the definitive way to play them on a Nintendo system.
