Doom looms large in the first-person shooter space, and few games match its blend of speed, aggression, and heavy metal atmosphere. Still, plenty of titles capture that same relentless energy. Here are five games worth playing if you enjoyed Doom.

Prodeus takes the classic run-and-gun formula and coats it in modern technology. The result is a fast, loud shooter with a campaign that never slows down and a level editor that lets players build their own arenas.

Dusk leans into the unsettling side of the genre. Its low-poly visuals and eerie sound design create a tense mood, while the movement and gunplay stay quick and precise. It rewards players who keep moving and think on their feet.

Ultrakill pushes speed to the extreme. The game grades performance, encourages stylish combos, and turns every encounter into a test of reflexes. It is demanding but deeply satisfying once the rhythm clicks.

Amid Evil swaps futuristic corridors for dark fantasy landscapes. Weapons feel strange and powerful, and the enemy designs keep players guessing. It offers a fresh setting without losing the frantic pace.

Hrot strips things back to basics with sharp controls and dense enemy encounters. Its retro style hides tight design that rewards careful positioning and quick decisions.

Each of these games understands what makes Doom work: momentum, challenge, and the simple joy of a well-placed shot.
