13 Classic Marvel Games Heading to Modern Consoles

A wave of nostalgia is set to hit the gaming world as a collection of thirteen classic Marvel titles from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras is being prepared for release on contemporary consoles. This digital anthology promises to bring some of the most iconic, and infamously challenging, comic book games directly to today's players.

The lineup is a deep cut for fans, featuring beloved arcade cabinets and cherished home console releases. Highlights include the legendary side-scrolling beat-'em-up, X-Men: The Arcade Game, famous for its six-player cabinet and chaotic mutant action. Also confirmed is the notoriously difficult NES title Silver Surfer, a shoot-'em-up that has haunted players for decades with its relentless difficulty. While the full list remains under wraps, the selection aims to showcase the diverse history of Marvel in gaming from the late 80s and early 90s.

These preserved titles will offer a direct portal to a formative era of comic book video games, allowing a new generation to experience the pixelated origins of their favorite superheroes and giving veteran players a chance to finally conquer challenges that bested them years ago. Official release dates and specific platform availability are expected to be announced soon.
